New South once again has raised the bar in the temporary access matting by adopting and deploying the new Emtek Runner System. The system uses large Emtek access mats in 36’ and 40’ lengths to deploy a temporary project road in half of the time of traditional 4’ or 8’ matting.
The Emtek Runner System is installed using New South’s latest mat laying machine. We have converted a Cat 320 excavator and added a Rotobec 6 way hydraulic grapple head thus creating a fast and efficient runner laying machine. Production times initially have seen 1400’ of runner access road per hour.
In addition to being deployed extremely fast, the Emtek Runner System is saving customers as much as 30% in freight, labor and mat rental costs. Each Emtek runner ranges in thickness from 5.5” to 7.5” thick. The thickness allows the product to safely provide low ground pressures and protect sensitive on site conditions such as wetlands, buried pipelines and cultural burial sites.
