NEW SOUTH recently managed an extensive access project over a sensitive wetlands area near the Mississippi River in Minnesota. Only NEW SOUTH has the expertise, products, and crews to provide access over multiple unstable soil conditions that were found on this project site. Our customer, a major utility company, required safe access over a wetland area to replace rotten poles and old transmission lines. Using several types of emtek® matting, NEW SOUTH crews forged a path for large cranes and equipment while minimizing the impact on the wetlands, protecting the species that inhabit the area and minimizing mat costs, fines, and penalties.
