NEW SOUTH’s Vice President and one of our NEW SOUTH project managers were on site in Colombia, South America to manage the installation of the emtek wetland access system on the Calipso project site for HOCOL.
HOCOL’s drilling rig site required a safe solid working platform. While this is not a typical use of emtek® Type 3, it is a smart solution. Emtek is encased with steel and made of select Southern hardwoods, laminated and bolted together to create one of the most durable surfaces for heavy equipment, cranes, and, rigs. Stringer decking on the lower surface of the emtek wetland access system provides additional strength for repetitive loads on a working platform like the one on the Calipso project site.
